how to increase blog readership

6 Habits Can Destroy your Blog Readership

1 – Lack of Blog Posting Schedule

Absence of specific blog posting pattern and schedule like on daily basis, after one day or two days can damage a blogger’s worth or at least some readership. It must be made. When readers are aware of the blogger’s posting schedule, they wait and expect bloggers to post new fresh content after the specific time period, and when they don’t see any new update from the blogger, they stop following and focusing on that blog.

Sometimes it’s not about waiting of readers, when a blog is getting posts on a specific schedule, subscribers and readers automatically give attention to the updates, because they know that some new content is about to arrive or might have arrived.

2 – Not Fulfilling the Promises

Promises are important by bloggers – Just like they are important in our daily life. Make sure being a blogger if you commit to your readers about something, you do it timely as you promised, otherwise they won’t trust you anymore, or stop reading you.

Trust and loyalty are major ingredients of blogging – If you lose trust and loyalty by your readers, it would surely affect your readership.

3 – Writing Old-traditional Tips

Tips that have already been written and published in the past should not be repeated again and again – It makes readers feel that you don’t have new exposure, ideas and creativity to make fresh and appealing content. Always offer something new, useful and more interesting than ever in your content. Make sure readers don’t feel that they have seen this on your blog, and most importantly your style of explaining the similar thing in a new way would also matter – But, try to avoid repetitive ideas and views.

4 – Copying Others Content or Ideas

Plagiarism would never be accepted, someday search engines will find out that your content is copied, and even people start discussing about copycats on Social Media – So don’t try to copy someone’s content in order to increase your content – It is never a blogging strategy.

5 – Not Replying the Comments

If you’re getting comments, you’re lucky, still thousands of bloggers struggle every day to make readers involve with their blogs, to read their content, and discuss through comments. If you already getting comments on your blog, then you are lucky, and you must reply each and every comment (positive or negative). It makes new readers feel that you care about people, and want to help them.

6 – Lack of Social Communication

Making yourself absent on Social media sites won’t help you – If you want people and friends to read your content, you should make your positive and impact creating presence on Social Media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and others. Try to engage more and more people, if you don’t use social media, you might be missing many new readers and subscribers, and it can surely hurt your bid to be a famous blogger.
